Making Up: Lightly stuff head and neck. Bring head down so chin meets neck, and tack with one stitch. Sew from base to half way up then leaving side seam go straight up the body and along the top. This leaves 2 flaps at end to act as tail feathers. Lean neck back against body and tack a stitch to hold it back, giving the swan the classic pose. Gather the short straight side of wing and sew to side of body at angle with long straight side uppermost, so wing lifts above body. End of beak needs black stitching and yellow above it. Black thread for eyes and Bobs your uncle. P.S. As you can see I wasn't too great at the beaks.....Improvisation is called for !!!!! |
