Ocean Deep Hat Using 4mm needles and double knit wool Cast on 28sts in a sand colour Knit 1 row Change to dark blue wool Starting with a knit row, stocking stitch 14 rows (K2tog) rpt to end (14sts) (P2tog) rpt to end (7sts) B & T Making Up Using green wool, work a few stitches to look like seaweed to the left hand side of the hat. Sew on the fish button using matching cotton and continue on to sew on 3 descending sized sequins, I used a 9mm, 6mm and 4mm sequin; all held in place with a little seed bead. Have a look here for the buttons! Finally oversew the row ends and turn inside out to admire your work - I challenge you not to become addicted to these!! I found a variegated dark blue wool worked particularly well with these hats - giving the feel of the ocean deep. |
