Butterfly Hat Using 4mm needles and double knit wool Cast on 28sts in green Rows 1 & 2: Knit 2 rows Row3: K9, K1 wrapping yarn twice round needle, K1 wrapping yarn 3 times round needle, K1 wrapping yarn twice round needle, Knit to end. Change to sky blue Row 4: P16, Sl the next 3sts, letting the loops drop, P9 Row 5: K9, Sl the next 3sts, K16 Row 6: P15, slip next st on cable needle infront of work, P1, then P the st on the cable needle, sl1, slip the next st on cable needle behind work, P1, then P the st on the cable needle, purl to end. Row 7: Knit 10, slip the next stitch, but twist it 5 times before moving it to your right hand needle, Knit to end. Making Up Sew a small flower to the middle twisted stem you have created. Add a butterfly button. Oversew the row ends and turn inside out. These work really well with anything that may be beside a flower. Perhaps a cat, rabbit, ladybird, dragonfly, tortoise, horse, bee etc. Have a look here for the buttefly buttons.
